Jane Sangerman is a painter based in Brooklyn, New York.

Upcoming in September 2025, Jane will participate in “100 WOMEN OF SPIRIT + Part 3, a satellite fair of the Armory Show at Zurcher Gallery, New York, New York.

She received her BFA from the University of New Mexico and MFA from The State University of New York at Buffalo.

Jane has had one and two person shows in many cities including Chicago and New York City. Her most recent solo exhibitions include Corners Gallery, Ithaca, New York and the Anderson Gallery-University at Buffalo, Buffalo, New York. Jane has also shown in group shows nationally and internationally. A selection of her most recent group exhibitions include the Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg, South Carolina; Lichtundfire Curatorial, New York, New York; Incubator Studio Gallery, Brooklyn, New York; and ODETTA Gallery, Brooklyn and New York, New York.

From 2020 to 2023, Jane’s work has been included in multiple on-line exhibitions curated by ODETTA Gallery in collaboration with the SHIM Art Network on Artsy.com. She also participated in several on-line exhibitions and Drawing Challenges at Jason McCoy Gallery, New York, New York.

In addition to teaching art at Ramapo College, her experience also comprises various visiting artist and guest lecture opportunities including the Parsons School of Design at The American School in Paris, The Glasgow School of Art, The University at Buffalo Anderson Gallery and The University of Northern Arizona.

Jane has received fellowships at Millay Arts, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Ucross Foundation, and the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts. In addition, she has received The Jerome Foundation Fellowship, the Artist in Residence Grant, Ramapo College, and the Illinois Painters Three Award.

Her work is part of more than 25 public collections including The Brooklyn Museum, The New York City Public Library, The Spartanburg Art Museum, The University at Buffalo Anderson Gallery, The Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, the Rockefeller Development Corporation, and Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
